Shirdi VIP Darshan Pass — Cost, Booking & Eligibility
A practical, devotee-first guide to the Rs 200 priority darshan ticket at Samadhi Mandir — how to book, who qualifies and what really happens inside.
The shirdi vip darshan pass is the most-asked-about ticket at Sai Baba’s samadhi — and also the most misunderstood. It is a paid priority queue arrangement managed by the Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Trust, and it gets you to the marble statue noticeably faster than the free public queue, especially on weekends, Thursdays and during festivals. This independent guide walks first-time pilgrims through the cost, eligibility, online booking flow and a few honest cautions that will save you hours of confusion.
What is the VIP Darshan Pass?
The VIP Darshan Pass — officially called the Paid Darshan or Priority Darshan ticket — is a Rs 200 ticket sold by the Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Trust that admits one devotee through a separate, shorter queue at the Samadhi Mandir. The free queue is open to every pilgrim, but on busy days it can stretch to three or four hours. The paid queue, in our experience and across most travel reports, brings that wait down to roughly thirty to ninety minutes depending on the season and time of day.
It is important to understand what the pass is not. It is not a private viewing, it is not an aarti pass, and it does not give you any extra time before the statue. You still walk past the silver Singhasan with the rest of your queue line, fold your hands, and move forward. What you save is time in the corridor, not time in the sanctum.
Current Cost & What's Included
The Rs 200 fee is the standard rate at the time of writing — always confirm the latest price on the official Trust portal before you travel, because the Trust does revise its pricing periodically. Children under 12 are typically allowed in with a paying adult at no extra charge, but you should still carry an Aadhaar card or birth proof if your child looks older than the age cut-off.
Beyond the priority queue itself, the pass does not bundle any extras — no prasad coupon, no aarti seat, no accommodation. If you want to attend a specific aarti, you will need a separate aarti pass booked online. If you need a place to stay, plan your Sansthan Bhakt Niwas separately.
How to Book Your VIP Darshan Pass Online
Visit sai.org.in
Go to the official Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Trust portal at sai.org.in. The same site handles aarti, darshan, accommodation and donation bookings, so make sure you click into the Paid Darshan / VIP Darshan section specifically.
Create or log into your account
Register with your mobile number and email; you will receive an OTP. Returning devotees can log in directly. Keep one account per family rather than booking from multiple accounts — it makes ID verification at the gate much smoother.
Pick date and time slot
Choose a date up to ~30 days ahead. Slots open in two-hour windows from 7 AM onwards. Avoid Thursdays and full-moon days if your schedule allows — those windows sell out within hours of release.
Enter devotee details
Enter each devotee’s name, age and ID number exactly as on the document you will carry. Mismatched names are the single biggest cause of refusal at the gate.
Pay and download the e-pass
Pay via UPI, debit, credit card or net banking. Save the PDF to your phone and also email it to yourself. Take a screenshot too — Shirdi mobile signal can be patchy near the Trust complex.
Arrive 30 minutes early
Reach the VIP queue gate at least thirty minutes before your slot. Carry the printed or digital pass plus the matching photo ID. Mobile phones and large bags go into the cloakroom across the road.
Eligibility & Who Can Apply
The VIP darshan pass has no caste, religion, nationality or membership restriction. Any devotee — Indian or foreign — can buy one online or at the counter. There is no minimum donation requirement, no need to be a registered Sai bhakt, and no preference shown to any particular community. Sai Baba’s own teaching — Sabka Malik Ek — runs through the Trust’s queue policy.
Sabka Malik Ek — one God is the master of all.
That said, a few practical eligibility points are worth knowing. Senior citizens above 65, differently-abled devotees and pregnant women are eligible for the Trust’s separate Senior Citizens & Divyang queue at no extra cost — they do not need to buy the Rs 200 pass at all. Carry a medical certificate or age proof if you are claiming that lane. Infants under one year are admitted with a parent through the priority queue automatically.
At the Gate — What Actually Happens
Security Check
You and your bag go through a metal detector. Phones, cameras, lighters, large purses, food and water bottles are not allowed inside. Use the free cloakroom on Pimpalwadi Road.
Read GuidePass Verification
Staff scan your QR code and match the ID. Each devotee must show their own ID; you cannot enter on someone else’s pass even within a family booking.
Read GuideDarshan Hall
You walk through the priority corridor that opens directly into the main darshan hall, joining the line about 20 metres before the Samadhi.

Best Days & Times — Honest Crowd Calendar
The single biggest factor in your darshan experience is not whether you have a VIP pass but when you go. Even with a priority ticket, a Thursday morning in Guru Purnima month can mean a two-hour wait. A Tuesday afternoon in February can mean fifteen minutes.
Our recommendation for first-timers using a VIP pass: book the 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM slot on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. You will be in and out by 9:30 AM with the cool morning breeze still in the courtyard, leaving the whole day for Dwarkamai, Gurusthan, Khandoba Mandir and a quiet lunch.
VIP Pass vs Free Darshan vs Aarti Pass
Many devotees confuse the three queue types. Here is the clean version:
- Free Darshan Queue — open to all, no ticket needed, longest wait. Free Udi prasad included.
- VIP Darshan Pass (Rs 200) — priority queue for time-pressed devotees. Same darshan, faster entry.
- Aarti Pass (Rs 400-600) — reserved seat for a specific aarti (Kakad, Madhyan, Dhoop or Shej). Includes darshan as part of the aarti experience.
If you are on a single-day trip and want both an aarti and a quick darshan, book the aarti pass for the aarti slot and use the VIP pass for the second darshan window. Read the full aarti schedule and timings before you decide.
Offline Booking at Shirdi Counters
If you arrive in Shirdi without a pre-booked pass, you can still buy the VIP ticket at the Trust’s counter near the main entrance gate. Counters open from around 4:30 AM and run through the day. Carry exact cash and a photo ID. During festival weeks the counter queues themselves can be long, which defeats the time-saving purpose — always prefer online booking when possible.
The Trust also operates a help desk for senior citizens and differently-abled devotees at the same complex. If you are unsure which queue you qualify for, the help desk staff will direct you free of charge — you do not need to buy a VIP ticket just to ask.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does the Shirdi VIP darshan pass cost in 2026?
The current price set by the Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Trust is Rs 200 per person for the priority darshan ticket. Prices are revised occasionally, so always confirm on sai.org.in before booking. Children under 12 are typically admitted free with a paying adult.
Can I book the VIP darshan pass on the spot at Shirdi?
Yes, the Trust runs a paid darshan counter near the Samadhi Mandir entrance from around 4:30 AM. However, during weekends, Thursdays and festival weeks the counter queue itself can be long, so online booking on sai.org.in is strongly recommended.
Is the VIP darshan pass refundable if I cannot travel?
No, the Trust currently does not allow refunds or rescheduling of paid darshan tickets once issued. Book your travel and accommodation first, and confirm your dates before paying for the darshan pass.
What ID is accepted at the VIP darshan gate?
Any government photo ID — Aadhaar card, PAN card, voter ID, driving licence or passport — is accepted. The name on the ID must exactly match the name on the pass. Foreign devotees should carry their passport with a valid visa.
Does the VIP pass cover aarti seating or accommodation?
No, the Rs 200 ticket only covers priority darshan. Aarti seats need a separate aarti pass costing Rs 400 to Rs 600 depending on the aarti, and Trust-run Bhakt Niwas accommodation is booked separately on sai.org.in.
How early should I reach the VIP queue gate?
Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before your booked slot. You will need time for security check, cloakroom deposit and pass verification. On Thursdays and festival days, reach 45 to 60 minutes early to be safe.
Can senior citizens get free priority darshan instead of buying the VIP pass?
Yes, the Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Trust runs a separate free queue for senior citizens above 65, differently-abled devotees and pregnant women. Carry age proof or a medical certificate. You do not need to buy the Rs 200 VIP pass if you qualify for this queue.
